The Lake District is where the famous author Beatrix Potter wrote the world famous Peter Rabbit tales at her home on Hill Top Farm a small village in the hills in Near Sawrey. After her death in 1943 at the age of 77 she left almost all her property in the area to the National trust.

In the lake side town of Bowness- on Windermere park your motorhome up at the side of Lake Windermere and have a walk into this lovely little village and take a trip on the lake on one of the many pleasure steamers that take thousands of visitors each year.
