Whilst you’re in your hire motorhome which you have picked up from our Manchester Airport branch why not visit many of the national trust properties within driving distance of the airport.
Once you’ve picked up your hire vehicle make your way to your first property visit.
Quarry Bank Mill and Styal
Quarry Bank Mill is on the outskirts of Styal in Cheshire, abutting and to the south of our Manchester Airport depot just twenty minutes away in your motorhome.
The mill is on the bank of the River Bollin which provided water to power the waterwheels. It was connected by road to the Bridgewater Canal for transporting raw cotton from the port of Liverpool. The mill was built in 1784 and is in 2013 it attracted over 130,000 visitors through its doors. Children as young as 8 worked in the mills cleaning up and around all the machines.
Dunham Massey Park
Dunham Massey Park is also only twenty minutes drive in your hire vehicle from our Manchester from was formerly the home of the last Earl of Stamford but has been owned by the National Trust since 1976. The main hall is a grand Georgian mansion that is home to famous painting and sculptures. There is also remains of Dunham castle that was demolished during the medieval period. There is a large park that is home to over 500 fallow deer.

Tatton Park
Tatton Park is an historic estate in Cheshire, England just twenty minutes drive in your motorhome from our depot at Manchester airport, It contains a mansion, Tatton Hall, a manor house dating from medieval times, Tatton Old Hall, gardens, a farm and a large deer park. It is a popular visitor attraction and hosts over 100 events annually. The estate is owned by the National Trust, who administer it jointly with Cheshire East Council. Since 1999 it hosts North West England’s annual Royal Horticultural Flower show.

Lyme Park
Lyme Park is a large estate located south of Disley, Cheshire an hours drive from our airport base where you picked up your motorhome. The estate is managed by the National Trust and consists of a mansion house surrounded by formal gardens. The house is the largest in Cheshire, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.
The estate was granted to Sir Thomas Danyers in 1346 and passed to the Leghs of Lyme by marriage in 1388. It remained in the possession of the Legh family until 1946 when it was given to the National Trust. The house dates from the latter part of the 16th century.
Lyme Park and its hall have been used in several films and television programmes. The exterior of the hall was used as Pemberley, the seat of Mr Darcy, in the 1995 BBC adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice.
