Park up your motorhome at Pennine View Caravan Park. This site is open March to October has hard standing pitches and electric hook up. After getting set up ready for your nights stay just a twenty minute walk the town centre of Kirby Stephen lies along the meandering River Eden. The town has a few gift shops and pubs if you fancy a swift one before buying your food for an evening in your motorhome.
Head back to your motorhome which is fully equipped with oven, hob and grill so whether you bought burgers or sausages you have all the facilities you need in your hire vehicle.
After a brew and breakfast set your GPS up and head towards Barnard Castle. Park your Motorhome up at Teesdale Barnard Castle Caravan Club Just a half hour drive from Kirby Stephen this will be your base for the night. It has all the handy facilities on site you would need such as a shop and laundry rooms as well as hard standing pitches and electric hook up points.
Once you’ve parked up walk down towards the town of Barnard Castle. The castle itself is nestled on the River Tees and is a 15 minute walk from your site. Once you’ve had a wander round the castle the Bowes Museum is only 15 minute’s walk from the town centre. This French chateau has different collections of art and antiques during the year.
Head off for a nice 2 hour journey through the outstanding countryside of Northumbria. Its always worthwhile taking a trip to Holy Island the home of Lindisfarne Priory. This is a tidal island and is cut off from the mainland at high tide so make sure if you’ve parked your hired motorhome up on the mainland your off the island before the tide arrives at night. Take a walk around the island and see the numerous amounts of local wildlife that live on the island.
Whist also in this are its wise to visit Bamburgh Castle nestled next to the beach this imposing castle has views that go for miles and even on a cold winters day the beach is amazingly soft and golden.
Stay over at Warren Caravan and camping site just a few miles away from the golden sands of Bamburgh. The site has full amenities including an outdoor pool, games room and full laundry facilities ideal for all motorhomes and caravans alike.
Time to start making you way back south for the last few days of your trip. Whenever you visit this part of the world it’s always good to drive over the famous Tyne Bridge in Newcastle. This iconic bridge was officially opened on 10 October 1928 by King George V and has since become a defining symbol of Tyneside. It was designed by the same people who went on to design the current Forth Road Bridge in Edinburgh and is based on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
After a fleeting visit through Newcastle in your motorhome it’s time to head to Durham down the A1 whilst driving down towards Durham try catch a glimpse of the Angel of The North a steel structure which has dominated the skyline since 1998. After arriving in Durham which is a historic city and the county town of County Durham in North East England. The city lies on the River Wear, to the west of Sunderland.
Founded over the final resting place of St Cuthbert, its Norman cathedral became a centre of pilgrimage in medieval England. The cathedral and adjacent 11th-century castle were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. The castle has been the home of Durham University since 1832.
After enjoying a day taking in all the sights of the city it’s time to head back to your motorhome and take a relaxing drive along the A69 towards Carlisle where you last stay over awaits you at Englethwaite Hall Caravan Club Site just a few miles off the M6. The site is a nice relaxing site ideal for your last night away. Once you’ve packed all your worldly possessions away its time to chill with a nice glass of something strong to look back on your easicampervanhire motorhome experience.
